Paul-Emile BOUTIGNY
Né le 11 mars 1854 à Paris. Mort en 1929. Français. Peintre de sujets militaires. Elève de Cabanel à l’Ecole des Beaux- Arts de Paris, il exposa régulièrement au Salon de 1876 à 1929, obtenant une médaille de troisième classe en 1884, une deuxième médaille en 1889, une médaille d’argent à l’Exposition Universelle de 1899 et de 1900. Il a exposé également à Chicago. Il fut fait Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur.
Peintre militaire, il réalisa un immense panneau pour la ville de Tourcoing, relatant la Bataille de Tourcoing, 19 mai 1794. Il a illustré Les Chants du soldat de Paul Déroulède.
