Georges ROUX
George ROUX (son véritable prénom était Alexandre-Georges) a réalisé cette ravissante composition en 1892, en s’inspirant des plages ensoleillées du Midi que baigne la Méditerranée. Il est très intéressant de noter à quel point l’artiste a tenu à conserver à son oeuvre le coté à la fois spontané, vivant et intime de chacun des personnages, représentant baigneurs et baigneuses, jeunes filles et enfants, mais aussi hommes et femmes plus âgés, dans une véritable “scène de vie” aux couleurs chaudes et colorées de son pays natal.
