Olivier PICHAT
Né à Paris en 1825, mort dans cette même ville le 30 septembre 1912. Peintre d’histoire, de sujets militaires, de portraits et de chevaux. Élève de François Picot, il débute au Salon de Paris en 1846, puis expose au Salon des Artistes Français dès sa création en 1881. PICHAT connut un grand succès de son vivant. Plusieurs de ses uvres figurent aujourd’hui dans les collections nationales (R.M.N.), achetées directement à l’artiste pour les plus célèbres d’entre elles par l’Empereur Napoléon III. Parmi elles, on peut citer: “Le Prince Impérial sur son Poney,” “Le Grand Prix de Paris” (Salon de 1866), “Rendez la Main Monseigneur”, etc…
