Francesco BEDA
Francesco BEDA, peintre italien né à Trieste en 1840, et dont le musée Revoltella possède deux toiles majeures, s’est formé à l’Académie de Venise sous la conduite du célèbre Karl von BLAAS, son maître.
Au cours de ses nombreux voyages, il travaille pour les cours royales européennes, notamment en Autriche, en Hongrie, en Croatie. Il réalisa les portraits de nombreux dignitaires, comme entre autres, le Prince de Rohan, évêque de Strosmayer. Son travail est très apprécié de la cour royale autrichienne et il peint notamment un paravent pour l’Impératrice Elisabeth.
