Charles MALFROY
Né à Lyon, Charles MALFROY (1862-1918) se situe dans la lignée impressionniste-expressionniste d’un Jean-Baptiste OLIVE. Attiré par la lumière des ports méditerranéens, il excelle dans la représentation des vues de la Côte d’Azur et des Bouches-du-Rhône. Il a donné du port de Martigues plusieurs versions, mais ses tableaux de Venise sont extrêmement rares. Malfroy fait preuve d’une facilité extrême et d’une grande virtuosité dans la traduction des effets atmosphériques.
